Instructor Led Training is dead
There has been a lot of buzz the last few years on the technological
replacements to these kind of trainings. There have been A.I. as a
replacement for human intelligence, eye tracking for focus by a
facilitator, avatars for – well, virtual trainer and the biggie,
e-learning for class room environment. With a major boom in augmented
reality and virtual reality it seems like the end is nigh for
traditional trainings. Every new technology is touted as THE ONE,
without which not. It is all very exciting and interesting and dare
we say a bit un-nerving at the same time.
The
ground reality
Despite
all this, why is a great teacher practically irreplaceable and great
trainer, facilitators charge a premium no other option can. Why are
real universities thriving as opposed to online ones? Speakers,
trainers and mentors, especially in the corporate sectors, may charge
a fees running in thousands of dollars.
In
india we see this at every interaction, the engagement level of
students / trainees is magnitudes better with a great trainer than
even the best alternate learning. With a booming softskills market
this is even more pronounced, empathy and understanding are
impossible to emulate traits.
Instructor
Led Training for Corporates
There
is a perennial training need and requirement at most organizations.
It could be due to mandated requirements or it could be due to
identified need or it could be due to Senior Management championing
this as an ROI improvement necessity. Instructor led training in Delhi has been especially successful at Government sectors which
despite recent improvement have not been as keen to adapt to new
learning techniques. They are very comfortable in a class room
environment. Instructor led training and NOIDA and Gurgaon has been
very successful for softskills training and various middle and big
sized corporates.
Corporate training in Gurgaon and Noida have proven successful for technical
and semi technical skills also.
What
the future holds
We
will see a lot of interesting, immersive and interactive
technological enhancements in the time to come. We see a future
driven by instructor led training, but with a blended approach. More
and more trainers are becoming adept at using technology to enhance
their delivery. A few years back powerpoint was shunned, then white
boards were detested, now there are reports of motion sickness with
AR / VR. We strongly believe these are all growing pains and trainers
will get accustomed to using newer methods of delivery. However, that
human touch will always enhance a delivery from routine to special.
